All other gate options really haven’t changed much since the development of fencing, with unattractive metal options that don’t flow with the clean lines of the fence. Metal gates can also potentially be hazardous, with large enough gaps between the bars where horses can get caught. The metal is unforgiving and can severely injure the horse should they get stuck. The gate itself creates a hazard by either swinging into the paddock or swinging out, potentially blocking the narrow lane between paddocks.
The innovators at EquiSafe realized that they needed to come up with a better design. While some farms incorporate sliding boards, these are often not aesthetically pleasing. Their solution was simple but unique: incorporate the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material used for their fencing into a sliding gate, dispelling a number of the problems created with other options.
The sliding gate creates a clean line all the way around the perimeter of the fencing. High caliber farms appreciate the elegance of the solution. The horse’s safety is drastically improved, because there are no sections of the gate low enough for the horse to slide into and potentially get stuck. The gate features attractive end caps on the gate, protecting both the horse and the handler from any sharp edges. The method by which the gate is attached is both secure and easy to install.
We offer single gates measuring at 4 ft, as well as a double gate measuring at 12 ft.
Customers do have the option of using their own gate, which will be discussed during the consultation.
